Credentialed Education Specialists deliver targeted instruction tailored to each student's goals.

Eligibility.

  • Children aged 3–22 with an identified disability
  • Currently enrolled (or enrolling) in Method Schools
  • Existing IEP or 504, or referral for evaluation

Heather Kennedy

Director of Special Education

Heather Kennedy comes to Method after spending the last three and a half years with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing's (CTC) Performance Assessment Team, where she was the consultant leading the work in developing a literacy performance assessment for teacher candidates to replace the RICA and align with SB 488, which was recently adopted by the CTC for operational use. During her tenure with CTC, she also was responsible for developing the teaching performance assessments for the early childhood education, Deaf and hard of hearing, and visual impairments credentials, while monitoring the operational administration of performance assessments for the other Education Specialist credentials that measure teacher candidate readiness for licensure.

Prior to her work with the CTC, she spent fifteen years with the William S. Hart Union High School District, where she served as a special education teacher at West Ranch High School and Castaic High School, and as a PAR Consulting Teacher.
